You’re officially invited to compete in Paul Smith’s College’s most exciting culinary showdown on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Compete for scholarships, including a FULL tuition scholarship for Fall 2025!

Limited spots available: Only 12 culinary and 12 baking participants!

Two champions—one from baking, one from culinary—will each earn a full tuition scholarship to Paul Smith’s College!

This year, we are thrilled to welcome special guest celebrity judge, alumnus Christian Hunter! A Michelin-starred chef and visionary culinary leader, Christian’s journey has taken him from Kentucky to global culinary excellence.

His accolades include:

You’ll have just one hour to craft a culinary or baking masterpiece using the ingredients provided. Your creation will be judged by Paul Smith’s College’s own expert chefs—alongside Chef Hunter himself!

Cooking for Scholarships

Each student has 1 hour to create:
Classically Rolled French Omelet with Fingerling Potato and Composed Simple Salad

  • Rolled Omelet
  • Fingerling Potatoes (competitors’ choice of cooking technique)
  • Dressed salad (consisting of 3 classical knife cuts (from available assorted vegetables)
  • Tomato concassé

Items available:

  • Eggs, clarified butter, standard dairy products, assorted greens, soft herbs, vegetables, (Fingerlings, Carrots, radish, cucumber, tomato, shallot etc. and more)
  • Dijon mustard, vinegars, lemon, and oils
  • 2 identical plates must be presented (1 for tasting, 1 for presentation)

Baking for Scholarships

In this fast-paced, fun event, each student has 1 hour to create:

Biscuits with Strawberries and Cream

  • Biscuits
  • Quick Diplomat cream – a mix of
    • Pastry cream
    • Crème Chantilly
  • Strawberries – cut and macerated

*2 identical plates must be presented (1 for tasting, 1 for presentation)
